The 2016-17 recruiting class was one of the best ever for Auburn, and that’s going to be on full display in 2016-2017.
In the coming weeks, ESPN will unveil the 2017 class of players that will be in the spotlight in 2018.
Here are five of our favorite players to watch in the upcoming years.1.
Shaquille Dye: If the 2015-16 class had been one of Auburn’s best, Dye would have made the final four.
The 6-foot-10 sophomore is the best player in the 2017 recruiting class, and he could very well end up being a top-10 pick in next year’s draft.
He’ll have a tough time keeping up with the likes of Jalen Hurts, Aaron Gordon, and Jonathan Allen, but he has plenty of talent.
His athleticism makes him a good fit for the SEC, where he’ll get plenty of opportunities to shine.2.
Jalen Collins: Collins is a freak of nature who might be the most dominant athlete in the country.
He has the size to play guard or even guard in the NBA, and his incredible leaping ability will be a huge asset to a team with great length.
Collins can also handle the ball in the post and score at the rim, something he will need to do if he wants to become a top prospect.3.
Jabari Brown: This kid has potential, but his height and athleticism might be too much for the Big 12.
Brown can be an effective shooter at the college level, but it’s more likely he’ll end up playing power forward at Auburn.
He could also end up at power forward, where the Tigers could use him.4.
Tyus Jones: The 6’4″ forward is an athletic big man who could end up on a high-major team, but for now, Auburn will have to wait for him to turn pro.
He’s got good length, can score, and can make plays on the glass, but the Tigers are still a bit short at center.5.
Marcus Lee: Lee is an undersized, athletic forward who could make an immediate impact.
His height could be an issue, but Lee can score in the paint and defend.
He might end up a top 10 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, and could end the year in the league.
