WEXFORD, Ind.
— Texas has committed to recruiting four high schoolers who have ties to Texas football, the recruiting site Next Big 2020 announced Wednesday.
The Longhorns, ranked No. 1 in the latest 247Sports Composite, have also made four commitments from former Texas players, including defensive end Isaiah Johnson, who played at the University of Alabama.
Johnson is rated the No. 3 defensive end in the country.
The four players, who are listed as potential 2018 prospects, are all ranked in the top 15 nationally in the class of 2019.
The five-star Johnson is the highest-ranked defensive end committed to the Longhorns in 2018.
He was ranked No 2 by 247Sports and 247Sports composite rankings.
The two-star Duron is a 2017 junior college standout who is rated No. 8 in the state by 247 Sports and 247 Composite rankings.
He is a 6-foot-4, 270-pounder.
The remaining two- and three-star players in the 2018 class are rated in the bottom 10 by 247, 247Sports, Rivals and Scout.
