The next UK basketball recruit has been named and has been announced as Purdue, a 5-foot-10 forward from the University of Tennessee.
The 19-year-old is a big-time player who has already impressed with his ability to run the floor.
He is rated as the No. 5 prospect in the country by ESPN.
The Tennessee recruit has already started playing for the Volunteers and has already received scholarship offers from the likes of Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and North Carolina.
The 2019-20 season will be the final season for Purdue before he turns pro, which is expected to be in 2020.
Purdue has already enrolled at Tennessee and is working out regularly with the coaching staff at Knoxville.
He was named the 2017-18 UT Boys’ Big 12 Player of the Year and is ranked No. 14 in the 247Sports Composite.
Purpled is the son of former UK Basketball player, James Purdue.
The 6-foot, 2-inch forward was recruited to the Vols by former head coach Mike Jones, who took the program to the NCAA Tournament twice and reached the Final Four.
Purple was the top-rated recruit in the 2019 class, as he was considered the best player in the state of Tennessee when he committed.
The 5-10, 180-pound Purpled is expected in the range of 300-310 lbs.

The 2019 class includes some talented players, including 5-star recruit Trey Lyles from the UK Basketball Academy, who will be a freshman in 2020 and is expected be a top-five recruit.
Athletes like Lyles, who averaged 15.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game last season, are expected to have an impact in the next few years.
