The Oregon Ducks are recruiting in Alabama on the heels of the Crimson Tide’s signing of J.J. Watt, but the Ohio State defensive tackle is not a Buckeye.
In fact, Clemson’s official website shows the Buckeyes are recruiting Ohio State offensive tackle Anthony Barr.
The website also shows Alabama’s commit of offensive tackle Chris Wormley is also listed as an Ohio State prospect, but he has yet to sign with the Crimson Crimson Tide.
Alabama has also recruited Clemson’s Anthony Barr, but according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, Alabama’s offensive tackle is a “different guy.”
“I don’t know that Anthony Barr is a different player, he’s just different from the rest of the group,” McMurph said.
“He’s a different kind of player, obviously, he was a tackle and that’s why we were recruiting him.
We were really interested in him and we weren’t looking at the tackle, we were looking at his ability to play outside, but we also weren’t concerned about the depth of the line, so we didn’t want to lose him.”
Alabama has committed to Auburn’s Alex Kozlov, but that hasn’t stopped it from recruiting the former Auburn defensive end in other ways.
McMurphy reports Alabama is recruiting former Texas A&M defensive end Deion Sanders and former Alabama defensive end La’el Collins.
